From humble beginnings
Since the early days of the business Troy has been a good friend and always supported and encouraged my venture into tube amp manufacturing.
Pop in for a play
A self professed ‘Tone Junkie’, Troy would often pop in while he was visiting Grafton and always enjoyed plugging into some of the Docs creations.

Enter the 15w Komet Head
Sometime in late 2023 Troy came over to drop some amps in for service, he took with him one of my 15w Komet heads for a bit of a test drive and ended up falling in love with it. It’s compact size and stunning tone made it a logical choice for his touring amp and in 2024 he embarked on a National tour with the Komet at his side. That amp has found itself in all corners of Australia and also went overseas to the Maldives in September 24 for the Music in Paradise event. It appeared onstage at the 2024 Golden Guitar Awards and at the 2024 Aria Awards. Later that year Troy commissioned me to build him a matching 112 speaker cabinet to pair with the Komet Head.
